1999 Plymouth Voyager 4 cyl Automatic 170, 00 miles

i have a 1999 plymouth voyager. It has about 170,000 miles. All of them are local. I have a issue where the van will work fine and then all of a sudden I will try to start it up and all it will do is click, click, click. All the lights on the inside and signals work. I had the starter tested and it passed. I had a tune up with the change of spark plugs, filters, oil, etc. Its not the battery it was tested and passed. The terminals were fully cleaned off. I have a new starter fuse. It does it off and on with no warning. Some times it wont start on the first turn but then the next one or two it will. The last two day I t has not started at all. No check engine light is on or anything. I dont know what could be wrong. Can you help me please.

THese starters have internal switch contact points that the solenoid engages. They get worn and cause an intermittent no start. It is possible to replace just the contacts, but if the starter is old, you might replace the whole thing anyway.
