My 1989 voyager runs for awhile, then seems to lose power, if I press on the gas nothing happens, it gets worse, if I stop and shut it off for a couple of mins. It runs good for awhile, then does it again, I can only do about 20 mph up hills while this is happening.

Your loss of power at times could be loss of fuel pressure, possable restriction. The other item which I have found to be a map sensor issue, remove it and check for possable oil intrusion. Also check any vaccume lines for resticion or cracking. If map sensor does have a noticeable amount of oil from the vaccume connection I would reccomend replacement
and check your pcv system for proper operation. Are there any engine light when this acts up?What is intake vaccume readings? If vac. Is low you may have a cat. Convertor issue.
