1990 Plymouth Acclaim

I have an Acclaim. It used to be a great car, but recently I've been having some trouble with it. The past few weeks it has been over-heating. And tonight, the hood actually started smoking. I have added oil and anti-freeze. I'm not very car savvy and have no idea what could be wrong. I really need help! I'm freaking out because I can't afford another car.

Can you verify whre the steam is coming from, do you notice white smoke coming out of the exhaust?

The steam is coming out of both sides of the hood. And I think that there is white smoke coming from the exhaust. It smells really bad too, like the oil or antifreeze burning or something.

Sounds like a cracked/warped head or a blown headgasket. Perform a compression test on each cylinder the lowest cylinder should be no more then 25% less then the highest cylinder.
