Overheated and blew out a little smoke then shut off and won't start now. I know the water pump needs to be replaced but what else is wrong? Why won't it start a how can I fix/repair it at minimum cost?

If the engine was extremely overheated you may have lost compression which means the engine will need to be replaced, if you can upload a short video of the engine cranking over, I can tell you for sure.

You can also do a compression test to confirm the damage.

And this guide may help as well:

Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
