Hello, my car listed above EX overheats when I come to an Idle, but not all the time. Once I give it gas it starts to cool down. It has a new cap, hoses and thermostat. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

If it is only happening when in stop and go traffic and at an idle, chances are the radiator cooling fan isn't turning on when a specific temperature is reached.

Have you noticed if the cooling fan turns on when it starts getting too hot? Also, do you hear the fan turn on when the A/C is turned on?

If you don't hear them running when needed, I need you to check two fuses and two relays.

If you look below, pic 1 shows the location of the fuse/relay box you will be inspecting. The second pic shows the fuses and relays to check.

Here are two links to help you do this:

Keep in mind, when you check the fuses, if they are good, it is important to confirm there is power to and from them.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
