The car stopped while I was driving. I opened the hood and it was overheating. I checked the oil and there was oil. I checked the coolant tank but there was no coolant so I put 50/50 coolant in it but, unfortunately there is a leaked. I just do not know if it is just the coolant tank or there is is something else. So the car still will not start. I want to have an idea what it could possibly be and how much it will cost for me to fix. Before I can get the car towed to a mechanic. Thank you.

Hello, I am Danny.

First thing you are going to need to do is identify where the leak is coming from. Overheating can cause serious damage to the Engine! Hopefully no serious damage has yet occurred. I would first suggest performing a cooling system pressure test to find out where leak is coming from. This test pressurizes the cooling system and will show where leak/problems are coming from. Most auto part stores have a tool loaner program to rent a cooling system pressure tester. Most vehicles have sensors that control and monitor these systems and will not allow starting when problems like this are detected. I am attaching a tutorial for you to see on how to perform this test. Hope this helps and you can fix before having to revert to having vehicle towed to the shop. I believe shop labor is $110.00 an hour on average. Feel free to contact if you have any further questions. Danny-
