Heater problem
1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass 6 cyl Automatic 58000 miles

A few weeks back, I had the heat on and after a few minutes I noticed and smelled smoke coming from all of my vents. I turned the heat off and the smoke stopped. Ever since even with the heat off, smoke still comes from my vents fogging up all of my windows. My floor mats are not wet and the smoke sometimes smells like burning hair, other times my car smells like syrup. Is this a heater core issue?

From what you describe it sure sounds like te heater core is leaking. The antifreeze often smells like that and does exactly what you say it's doing the coolant is probably draining out the bottom of the car through the a/c drain tube. Get it fixed before it breaks, then you'll have a real mess.
