I got stuck in snow and was told that only my rear wheels spun, when in returned home, I jacked up rear of suv to trick computer into thinking rear wheels were slipping and front wheels did not work.

Hi:
Is your truck AWD or do you put it in 4wd with a switch or lever?

Todd,

The smart track, like you said, should be working all the time. Unless someone stole the front frive shaft. I will repost your question with the other techs because I'm not as good with the smart track system. I'm sure one will contact you soon.

I got under the bravada and verified that there was a drive shaft going to front diff. That was my first thought that the driveshaft was removed to get better gas mileage. Thank you for your time Joe and I will let you know what comes of it so you can use the info for future customers.

Jacked up rearend off bravada to make it think that rear wheels were slipping, driveshaft was turning to the front axle, but front wheels did not try to turn, that removed transfer case out of the picture I think, I hope that helps you diagnose problem.

Your front differential has a internal problem if the tranfer case is not acting up.I had to rebuild my front diffiential on my 97 oldsmobile bravada.
