Was running fine, never any issues with coolant, oil levels, never leaked oil. Got oil change and 8 days later while driving down the road it all if a sudden shook violently and cut off as I stopped at a stop sign. Lost auto steering barely made it to side of road. Had it towed to regular mechanic, however he never looked at it. Instead he immediately told me it was no use in fixing it to scrap it for junk. Said not worth fixing. Had recently gotten new oil change and drove it for 8 days only before it broke down. Neighbor took a look and said my oil was black that there was no way I had just gotten it changed. I'm wondering if it is just the oil pressure sensor or maybe oil pump needs replacing? Have never replaced those before. Maybe engine shutoff as preventative measures? Thank you so much for your help!

The shaking and the manner that it shut off sounds like it locked up or failed catastrophically. If there are no holes in the block then the vest way to tell if the engine is locked up is to put a wrench on the crank pulley and see if the engine will turn over by hand. If it will not move then it needs an engine.

If it does spin then we may only have bearing damage. The way to tell that is to hook up a scan tool and check for codes. Once we now what is there, we can better determine if we have an issue preventing it from starting.

When you turn the key does the engine crank? If it does then clearly it will spin over. If it does can you get a recording of what it sounds like when cranking?

Lastly you will want to put a mechanical gauge on the engine and crank the engine to see if you are building pressure. If not, then you don't want it to start as it will be running with no pressure and do further damage.
