Overdrive off light

When putting my truck in reverse the OD off light comes on. I’ve ensured I am not pressing the button as I shift. I put it in drive a press the button and all is fine. The button works as it should otherwise.

Hi,

It sounds like an issue in the switch wiring. I have a diagnostic chart. It is somewhat involved for testing specific leads. However, I have a feeling it is related to the wiring. Something must be shorting to power when the switch is in the reverse position.

If you look at the attached pics, it shows the schematic and the procedure. Again, it's a little involved. However, here are a few links you may find helpful:
