I recently got a truck and it was running and started perfectly fine before, but upon inspection it seemed like someone put in a shoddy connected remote start system and after trying to fix some unrelated wiring issues I can no longer get it to start, I pulled out the entire aftermarket remote start system and reconnected the wires properly with connectors and ensured that the voltage/continuity was good, but it still won’t start, I’ve tried checking all the fuses and relays and they all tested okay, and the only way I can get it started currently is by jumping the starter relay to the battery and holding they key in the crank position, trying to use they key in the crank position as you Norma would just causes the lights to go out on the dash and the interior lights as if the battery was dead, however I just replaced it and ensured it was fully charged, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'm not sure what wires were cut or spliced. So, I attached the starter circuit wiring schematic below. There are several fuses to check and there is a starter relay.

What I did was this. I started at the battery and at the ignition switch and have bold arrows pointing in the direction the power should go. At this point, I would simply reconfirm all fuses are good, the relay is good, and the wires go where they belong. If everything checks good, then we need to know where power is being lost by tracing the wiring and testing at different points.

Take a look at the schematic and let me know if this helps. Also, let me know what color the wires are that you repaired.

When you check the fuses, make sure there is power to and from the fuse.

Here are two links you may find helpful when checking fuses and the relay:

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe

See pics below. Note, I cut the wiring schematic in two, so it was readable for you. I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next.
