My truck will not even turn over when I try to engage the starter with the key all the gages come on as normal but will not turn over and when it does its ok and runs fine and the starter works fine to.

Make sure the battery has a full charge. All connections clean and tight. Use a digital multimeter across battery posts. Have helper turn key to crank. How does the voltage react?
