Hi, starter spins freely when I short the positive on the starter to the ignition switch wire, but nothing when we turn the key. Wondering where the places are to check. We have replaced the ignition block under the dash and the dimmer switch. Still the starter does not turn when we turn the switch.

We need to measure voltage coming out of the ignition switch to find out if it is the switch or a wiring issue to the starter.

Take a look at the wiring diagram and go to the purple wire from the switch and check voltage here when cranking the engine. If you are getting it here then you have a wiring issue. I would then go to the starter and check the same thing just to confirm no voltage at the starter. Then just run a new wire from the switch where you have power to the starter and that should take care of it.

Let me know if you have questions and we can go from there. Thanks
