Okay, have a 1996 Dakota bought fuel pump in 2015 put it in everything was great now about three weeks ago it started giving trouble would press the accelerator and it felt like it wanted to die out. And it finally did would crank over but would not start. Pulled it home and noticed that with the key in the on position fuel pump would not turn on. The next day just happen to try it and it turned on now it does not want to turn on. Can anyone help me please?

Could be the pump is bad, the pump relay has failed or you have a bad connection.
I would start with the pump relay. They draw quite a bit of current and the contacts in the socket loosen up. Then I would check the actual pump pressure, I have seen after market pumps that fail in a year or less so it is possible the pump is failing. Check the filter as well but your description sounds like pump.
