Whenever it rains a situation develops; no-crank when trying to start vehicle. During dry conditions starting is normal with strong cranking. Battery voltage is 12.45 volts at rest. Replaced and tightened battery terminals, checked starter relay, fuel pump is working, check ripen relay is working.

This sounds like the starter motor is going out. Please check the trigger wire with a test light while cranking the car over to confirm. Here is a guide that will help:

and if confirmed.

Look toward the bottom.

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

Thank you for your reply, but as previously described, this is not a cranking/no-start situation, this is a situation where there is a no-crank starting issue when the ignition switch is activated with the key. It only occurs when there is a hard rain outside. It is very puzzling to me. Thanks anyway. Rich

Yes, please check for power at the trigger wire of the starter when the key is in the crank position so you can determine if it is the starter or the wiring?

During a rain event I managed to connect test light to signal wire and found it energized. Took off starter and found deteriorated solenoid contact. Replaced them and the problem with no crank seems to be solved. But I still cannot understand why the problem would only occur during or after a rain event? Thanks for the help again.

Good find! The moisture sets of the corrosion which pushes the connection over the edge.
