Can I just hotwire the fuel pump? I want to run a toggle switch to the fuel pump so I can turn it off and on with the toggle switch. Can I do that?

Good evening,

Yes, you could do it, but before you do that can you do a couple quick checks?

I attached the diagram for you to view of the fuel pump circuit. You need to go to the relay and do some testing. You need to verify voltage to the relay for operation.

Check for one terminal with voltage all the time. Then there should be another one that needs voltage only for 2 seconds when you turn on the key.

And how would you run the toggle switch? Would you run it straight from the battery for a hot wire to the hot wire to the fuel pump?

You check voltage not current at the pump.

Yes, a hot from the battery to the switch and the other wire to the pump.

Did you check the relay?

Yes, I checked the relay and guess what I went through the whole system again and I got everything working proper it's running rough. I think I need a fuel filter and change my oxygen sensors out. But thanks for your help I might have more questions later take it easy Roy.
