My van was running yesterday, but if we turned it off it would take a while for us to be able to start it again. This morning we tried to start it and nothing. No lights, not cranking, just nothing. We bought a new battery and still nothing. What could the issue be?

This sounds like an ignition switch issue. I attached the testing and other info needed. However, I would suggest looking to see if you have proper voltage when turning the key.

Let me know what you find and we can go from there. Thanks

We have power now. It keeps trying to start. We had it started a couple times but it shut off almost immediately. We bought a new fuel filter, but now it's running hot and burning water quickly.

Oh boy. This doesn't sound great. Is it smoking?

We may need to do a compression check to see if we have a sound engine.
