The fuses under the hood and compartment on the passenger side near the blower motor have been checked. Also, the panel was taken off to check the plug connection to the controls. I’ve tried to recharge with freon, but that failed because the switch doesn’t come on. For over 5 minutes of hooking up to the low-pressure line and squeezing nothing went into the system. The blower motor has been checked. I even purchased a new one. A new thermostat has been installed.

It will not light up unless there is refrigerant in the system, you say you can fill the system can I ask if it is flat? If so, open the recharge refringent source and allow it to fill (system off). Once the pressure has equalized, start the engine and turn the system on, the light and compressor should come on. Continue to fill until full this guide and video can help, if the system is flat, you have a leak, so I have included an additional guide as well for that.

and

and for the leak.

Here is the A/C system and compressor wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. I would double check the fuses mentioned in the wiring diagrams for power when the system is on to be sure.

Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.

No, I haven’t been able to charge it with Freon. I assumed that this was the result of not being able to press the A/C button on. I can turn the upper knob to blue/cold and the other on high, but the button below that has the air symbol doesn’t engage or come on. The recharge instructions are to crank the vehicle up and turn the knobs too high prior to hooking up the recharge hose. Are you saying that I should attempt to recharge with the vehicle off initially?

You can do the recharge either way, did you check for power at the fuses?

Yes, I checked the fuses. I eventually took it to be inspected and the issue was linked to the heater temperature control panel. Thinking that I could get the part from a typical part store, I went to Advance Auto Parts and O’Reilly’s to no avail. Apparently, the item can only be obtained from either the dealership or salvage. In addition, no other models are compatible only 2005. Hopefully the installation of the part will remedy the issue. Thank you for your insight. I’ll definitely use this forum in the future for questions and updates.
