My car sat 2 years without starting. I recently got it started and took it on a test drive. The rpm indicates that it is in fifth but it sounds like it is in a lower gear due to the sound. The rpm is about 1,800 after it goes from fourth to fifth. But the transmission is not in fifth according to the sound. Could this be a fuse or solenoids in the transmission?

Good morning,

After sitting for 2 years, I would suggest changing the fluid and filter. You may have a fluid issue. Sitting that long, the fluid is no good just as in the engine as well.

If it was a solenoid or fuse, you would have a check engine light with a code stored.
