My name is Andrew, I have the car listed above z28. Just recently I have been having issues with the rpm-mph and volt meter rapidly jumping up and down. I went to work the other morning and I was doing the same thing but more aggressively and the engine power was cutting in and out every so often. I made it to work and I let it idle for a few minutes then turned it off. At the end of the day I got in and tried starting it but nothing. I have a door chime when I put my key in and when I turn the key to the on position without starting, no chime no dash lights and when I try and crank it does absolutely nothing. Battery is new and I checked all grounds and starter wires, battery cables etc. Also, all fuses are good. I am stumped from here. Do you all have any suggestions?

Good afternoon.

It sounds like the battery is dead. The charging system may not be working.

You need to test the voltage at the battery. It needs to be 12.6 volts.

Then when you get the motor running, the battery should show 14 to 14.5 volts.
