Engine Performance problem 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 90,000 miles

I had my air filter changed at Wal-Mart and while he had the filter out he took the air hose and blew the dust and dirt off, and right into the empty hole. It would hardly run and has gotten better, I put cleaner in the gas and that has helped, but I'm thinking now I may have to change the fuel filter, Can you tell me where it's located?

Hello,

Yes the fuel filter is located in the fuel tank attached to the fuel pump, this filter is generally not serviceable. Newer cars do no have fuel filters like older cars do. Just a fuel strainer in the tank.

Hope this helps,

Below could cause your problem:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires

Hi Mukesh,

Thank you for the donation.

I don't think it is the fuel filter that is causing the problem.

The fuel filter is located on firewall, below cruise control actuator.

Before the jump start, did this occur?
What was the idling speed?
Were you able to restart after it stalled?

Hello. My 1994 Nissan Altima GLE occasionally will not start. It cranks fine. Autozone told me I should change the fuel filter and see if that fixes the problem. That sounds reasonable to me. Can you tell me where the in-line fuel filter is located?
Thanks!

Close to the firewall on the driver side, close to the brake master cylinder.
