Check Engine Light on-- was told that this year and model does not require a fuel filter? Is this so? Car dieing, & jerking at times. Do you suggest gas treatment and carburator cleaner to be added to gas tank? Could it be air filter?

I suggest you go somewhere to get the check engine light read and repost with the codes and descriptions. If it is running bad and the CEL is on then that will most likely lead you to what is wrong with it.
