I recently changed the fiber in the gearbox on my car. After that, I mounted the gearbox, but the car will not start. It will crank, but will not start for two days now. Have scanned to find out the problem, it shows "security". The engine cranks well, showing no error code, but just will not start. What do I need to do?

Thank you,
Cymyeon

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

There is a chance you may have to return the vehicle to the dealer for key registration reset. Try this first. If it does not help, let me know.

Note: If you have anything on the key ring that can cause interference with the unit, remove it. Items such as small automated payment cards can interfere with the system.

A. Leave the ignition switch in "on" position for approximately five seconds.
B. Turn ignition switch to "off" or "lock" position and wait approximately five seconds.
C. Repeat step 1 and 2.
D. Start the engine while holding the device (which may have caused the interference) separate from the registered NATS key. If the no start condition re-occurs, NISSAN/INFINITI recommends placing the registered IVIS (NATS) key on a separate key ring to avoid interference from other devices. If there is no device to cause interference, reprogram the key and NATS.

If the security light is on the system has disabled the engine controls. As a first step you can disconnect the battery at both cables. Now touch the disconnected cables together to drain off any stored power. Next wait five minutes and reconnect the battery. Now use the key to lock and unlock the drivers door. Now try it and see if it will start. If not then try a different key as well.

Sure, the car moved well the first two days. But now, I drive only using 2w. If I use the 4WD, AUTO, or 4H or 4LO, the car does not select beyond two forward gear. Now I cannot even use the 4WD in the mud or sand. If I do, the car does not select more than first and second forward gears. And it keeps revving. What do I need to do?

As at now, I have disconnected the auxiliary gear. If the auxiliary I connected, it does not select more than first and second forward gears.
Kindly help out.

Hi again. I am not sure I totally understand what is happening and what you have done. The 4wd options are not working? Also, when you say you disconnected the auxiliary gear, what are you referring to?

Let me know.

Hi Joe, thank you for stepping in. Yes, the 4wd options are not working.
Secondly, I had to disconnect the auxiliary propeller, so that I can move the car as it could not select gears on movement.

Kindly help out.
Thank you,
Cymyeon.

When you shift into a gear, does the indicator show you have changed gears? Also, check to make sure the connectors to the transfer case actuator motor are clean and tight. I attached a picture of their location.

Note: Prior to removing the drive shaft (propeller), would the car move in neutral?

Hi Joe, thank you. Before removing the drive shift, it was not moving in neutral.

2). When I shift into gear, the indicator shows that I have changed gears.
3). I will try your advice.
4). I will revert back to you on results.

Thanks you once again.

Make sure the shifter linkage is attached at the transmission, too.

Hi Joe, I am back again. This time, the car engine overheat. The technician replaced the top gasket. Coupled it back, the car would crank, but won't start. The pressure is okay, fuel supply too, okay. He reset the timing chain, the electrician had it checked, But no power to the spark plugs. All spark plugs new. Why do I need to do?

Thank you.

Welcome back:

No start again? Since the work was done, make sure the crankshaft position sensor wasn't left disconnected or the wiring to it was damaged.

See picture 1

Let me know. I have a feeling something was left disconnected.

Let me know.

Joe
