Engine tries to shut when stopping

Engine tries to cut out when a stop. Also, the battery hand tends to drop close to half way like it is draining.

It sounds like a bad battery or bad cable connection. The best thing would be to get the charging system tested as well as the battery. That would give you an idea of where to start looking for the problem.
If you have a simply voltmeter you could test some of it yourself. Even the cheap/free ones at harbor freight will work for this.
