1990 Ford F-150 5.8L, auto, dual tanks. When I barely step on the gas, the motor starts cutting out. When I give it a little more gas, it runs fine. It idles fine. When running at cruising speed (55 mph), it runs fine. I've replaced the air filter, breather filter, and fuel filter. Doesn't matter if it's hot or cold.

It's definately the proplem with the fuel pump of your car. The fuel pump is not pumping as much fuel your car needs to work properly. Just check the fuel pump from a good garage or replace it if its not working properly.

Would it still idle fine if the pumps were going out? It has no problem starting without pressing the gas. It is fuel injected.
