Battery keeps going dead after replacing alternator

I just put in an alternator and battery it runs good, but for some reason it runs the battery dead. What am I missing here? I checked the fuses and they are good. Can you please help? Thank you.

Start by measuring the battery voltage with the engine running. It should be between 13.75 and 14.75 volts. Also observe if the "Battery" warning light turns on when you turn on the ignition switch, and if it turns off once the engine is running.
