Problems starting my Mitsubishi Eclipse

I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo charge 5 speed. My husband and I replaced the starter and the battery and it still will not start. I had suggested the starter because when I tried to start the car it just made a clicking sound and all my electrical worked. When I tapped on the starter, it would start. Now I get nothing, what can the problem be.

If you have to do that-it means the starter is getting power, you can break it open and reshape the brush and commutator and retry-might work again for few.

Before you go too far with this and pull your hair out. I have seen plenty of reman starters be bad right out of the box. Like Raz said, you were getting power to the starter, that should not have changed.

If your getting strong lights then the battery is hooked up.
