2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse Stuck Shifter

I was backing out of my driveway, then when I tried to put it in 1st gear my shifter seemed to get jammed. It seems like my car is stuck in 4th or 5th gear. The shifter is not responding and only goes up and down.

On the 3g eclipses its a common problem for the man trans to not wanna shift into 1st and Reverse sometimes but for it to be stuck in 4th and 5th your clutch is proably shot or you have loose tranny cables.
