1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse No lights

1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Ive noticed that the insrument and gear shift light stopped working....it happend right after i installed a radio....the fuses are fine and so are the bulbs...any ideas?? cause i read online that if i connected the illumination wires (which didnt match both orange, one with a white line)that it can damage the dimmer circuit...do you think this is my problem?any help would work THANKS

Disconnect the battery-if you have the lights back you're hooking the radio wrong verify the wiring

i did.... the wireing is right as i can see no burned wires or ends left open....im doing everything.... the radio works but the lights stoped what if i blew thw dimmer circuit when attaching the illumination wires??? thats the only thing i have left to check....i even took the radio out and all the attachments to the radio and the lights still dont work...i dont know what i did....please help....
