I have a 1992 Tracer Mercury Station Wagon, with 120,000 miles and is 3 cylinders. When I turn on the engine and then the turn on the air conditioner, the engine will turn off and the check engine light comes on. Please assist. Thank you.

Is the check engine light on with the car running without the a/c on? If yes get the codes read, autozone does it free. If no codes. Your PCM could be bad.
