What would cause my coolant to release. I drove to the store and when I got back to my car I noticed that it was coolant on the ground. When I started my car up the light came on "Low Coolant".

Hello,

You will have to determine where the leak is coming from. The coolant can leak from a number of places. It could be a leaking hose, water pump, thermostat housing, radiator etc.

Look for any obvious sign of leak under the hood. Check the hoses and the radiator.

It can be helpful to do a pressure test on the cooling system. This makes it easier to find leaks.

Here is a helpful video:

Please let me know what you find.
Thank you.
