1997 Mercury Sable car will not start

If it were my car, I would use a remanufactured unit. Brands that I have faith in are the Napa premium, USA manufacturers, and worldwide. IF none of these are available, I would look into a new one. The wire in question is included in the NAPA one I know and I believe the USA. Not sure on the worldwide.

When you check for power at the starter. IF there is no power to it, Shift it into nuetral. IF there is then power, then the switch there is bad.

For what it matters...This is listed under the Sable. regarding fuses and relays. The wiring diagram I have does not show a relay, so I don't know that you'll find this in the power distribution box or not.

The car does the same thing in neutral. Only clicks when we turn the key.

It's looking like a bad starter after all. :D
