Car wont start

Hello I have a 1984 Grand Marquis with a 302 5.0L V8. It has been sitting for a lilttle over a year and I just put a new battery in today but the car wont start. Me and my dad put gas in the throttle body area and it turns over and runs until the gas is used up in there. After that it wont start up. Any advice guys

Check and make sure your fuel pump is on in the gas tank. Turn the key to the on position, you should here a humming noise from the rear end for a couple seconds.
