Driving on the interstate at 65 and the power dropped off, power steering dead, no indicator lights on dash. After 10 minutes, engine restarted but only got 2 miles and died the same way. Not one hint of an indicator light like alternator or low oil pressure when the engine quit. Oil level and trans levels OK. May have had an error code 40 on at the shop where it sits.

First thought, going by the information you provided, is fuel pump. What did the shop say? Please advise.

Hi Jim,

Fuel filter was a little blocked but it seems to have been the throttle position sensor. The old one was scraped up and worn by some rubbing it appears but the shop was able to get a error code that indicated it might be a problem. I have just been driving in town since the repair this morning. No problems yet. The fuel pump appears to have been working normally.

To be one the safe side, we had the ignition wiring replaced, too, as it was showing a good bit of corrosion at the contacts on both ends of the wiring.

Thanks.
