Six cylinder two wheel drive automatic.

I need to replace the turn signal flasher relay for my car. I looked in and around both fuse boxes in the engine compartment and under the steering, but I could not find the relay location. Can you help?

It is located on top of steering column.

My dad just replaced it on mine. You have to remove the steering column cover and the flasher relay is located underneath the turn signal. To install it is fairly easy but it does not tell you where it is located anywhere in the manual. It took awhile to figure it out. Hope this helps.

As soon as you remove the lower half of the plastic cover just behind the steering wheel you will see the flasher plugged in. It is rectangular and black plastic on a 2000 Mercury Cougar.
Three screws with a small torx head hold the bottom half panel on. Lets see if I can find some pictures.
