Engine Performance problem
1987 Mercedes Benz 190e 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 240 km miles

Hi, my 190e runs great until suddenly (often after a continued use of the accelerator such as going up a long hill or taking off from a stop) then engine dies. It seems the engine starves for fuel and won't restart until it has had a rest for five or so minutes. It will then restart and drive normally. I find I don't have so many problems if I regularly remove my foot from the accelerator during driving, seemingly to let fuel build up or pressure to be released somewhere?
