1991 Mercedes Benz 190e car will not stay running

Car will not stay running after the firist turn of the key it sounds like it wants to start but then just dies. I took the air cleaner cover off and sparyed stater fluid in the air intake and it would stay running while I sprayed it in there

This is a fuel delivery problem, you will have to get the pump pressure checked and make sure that the filter is not blocked, if you remove the fuel in let hose at the delivery manifold, (there is an arrow indicating flow direction) there should be pressure there all the time, check this first.
