Hi, I have the car listed above that I'm swapping a 6.0 liter LQ4 into. I just watched your video "How to LS Swap - Episode 11- Throttle Pedal and Cable Transmission Cooler Lines". It's a great video! My transmission lines are all set so I watched it for the throttle linkage part which is very help full! I'm going to order those parts from Summit.

I kept the original 2 speed power-glide transmission. So now I'm trying to figure out how to connect the transmission kickdown linkage to the new system. Any help you can provide is much appreciated!

Hi,

I just noticed you haven't had a response in a few days. I will forward your question to Ryan. Here is the one in the video. LOL

Take care,

Joe

The P-Glide kickdown was originally set up with a full manual linkage. Lokar makes a cable conversion that is much easier to deal with than the mechanical linkage they came with. You install the cable, then to adjust it you set it up so that when the throttle is wide open the kickdown cable is pulled tight. Be sure to connect the vacuum line from the modulator to the intake. Then you go out and test that it does downshift when you floor the throttle.
In the video you can see the lower hole that Ryan leaves empty after attaching the throttle cable. That would be where the kick down cable would connect.

You're welcome. I ran a P-Glide in my drag car for years. They can be built to handle far more power than most of the other automatics. A friend of mine was running one of the early cast iron ones in his 3-engine pulling tractor! The only real drawback for street use is the lack of a lock-up converter and any type of overdrive in stock form. There are a couple aftermarket OD units out there if you decide you want to add it. Can't add a lock up converter though because the slip in the converter is needed. You will want to add a larger cooler though. Enjoy driving that 67. I had one back many years ago, should have kept it. Mine was a Gold Sport Coupe with the 327 and a hydramatic. Beautiful car.

Hey, thank you so much for watching the series!

Your build sounds awesome! Yep, just like Steve said, the bracket I used has the provisions for the kick down. Just feed it through one of those holes and attach it to the throttle body and you will be cruising in your LS swap in no time!
