No acceleration, replace the acceleration pedal sensors, didn't help too much. I cleaned MAF sensor. I got 3,500 RPMs in neutral. I was coming home one day last week, and it lost acceleration. The engine starts up fine, when I press on the accelerator in park the engine will top at 3,500RPMs then lower to 2,500RPMs at full throttle. Harold Billiot

Just to make sure we are clear on the issue, when you accelerate the vehicle in gear, the vehicle does not move. However, when you are in park, the RPMs respond but do not go over 3,500?

If this is the case, it sounds like we could have a torque converter issue or other transmission issue.

Basically, the vehicle has a limiter in it that will prevent you from over revving the engine when in park so that sounds normal.

However, when you put it in gear if it doesn't move then we could have an issue with the transmission so let's start by checking the fluid and changing it if it is low or not in good condition.

Once we know if the fluid is okay, we can make the next call but if when in gear there is no response then that sounds like a converter is failing not allowing the engine to rev and it is bogged down.

Can you get a video of what it is doing if this does not sound like what the issue is?

Please let me know what you find, and we can go from there.

Thanks

When I put it in gear it does move, some but the engine whines. I didn't push it too hard, and just drove it for about 5 minutes. These were the code's: p1791 (pending), p0700 (pending), p2138 (pending), p1125, p2120, p2125, and p2138. When have it in park and give it gas, 3,500 RPMs and engine surge's, from 3,500 to 2,000 rRPMs.

Okay. That is great info.

We have a 5-volt reference issue.

So, we need to run through this testing which basically points you to the P2138 code. I attached all this testing below for your review.

Please run through this and let me know what questions you have on this.

Thanks

I replaced the transmission fluid with premium full synthetic BG automatic transmission fluid pn.31232cc. It runs good and strong. Thanks

That is great news. So those 5-volt reference codes were most likely old codes that have not cleared yet.

That is great and thanks for the update.
