Hi I just purchased this car with low mileage after totaling my previous LS a month ago. I love my new LS, drives smoother than my old one, but does not get nearly as good MPG. I am averaging about 17 MPG right now with about half highway and half city. That is only about two hundred and sixty miles per tank compared to the three hundred and twenty or so I would get with my old LS (same v6 engine). I have used Lucas Oil Conditioner and fuel injector cleaner with the last four tanks and I have seen a small improvement in my MPG, but it is still nothing like it used to be. There are no warning lights or codes coming up so I am not really sure what to do. Any Ford mechanics have with experience with anything like this?

Hello,

If you decide you would like to conduct the scan yourself here is a link to an article that features written step by step instructions and pictures explaining how to do the scan yourself, also I have included a link to our YouTube channel with a how to video on code scanning.

This is applicable even if your check engine light is not on.

Most scanners are inexpensive to purchase, you can purchase one online from sites like Amazon.com

Once you have the codes please get back to us so that we can further assist you. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for visiting 2CarPros.com.

Kindest regards,
