Loses power (hesitates badly) when put into gear trying to move forward, but idles perfectly. If I was describing the problem on a Chevrolet it would be the vacuum advance line was disconnected. Any ideas where the equivalent on a Ford 5.4 Liter, Triton would be? Could it be a possible fuse issue?

Good morning.

No, that was a long time ago. Those days are gone. timing is done through the PCM.

No to the fuse.

With low power, the first thing I always look at is filters. Check the air and fuel filter, in fact, replace them.

Beyond that, I would check the fuel pressure to be sure there is enough pressure to run the injector needs for fueling the engine.

Catatlytic converters being clogged are a possibility as well.

Are there any codes stored?
