In a perfect world, fuel trims should be close to 0. However, long term trims can vary based on driving conditions. The short term ones are the ones of most interest. And yes, it you show a positive trim, you the computer is trying to add fuel due to a lean mixture.

I would see if you can get your hands on a fuel pressure gauge. Most parts stores will lend or rent one to you.
