Ok my friend has a 2000 Ls with the v8 in it. She ran over something and knocked a hole in her oil pan and all the oil leaked out and the car just cut off. She said it didnt start knocking or anything. Just shut down and wouldnt start back up.I can put a new oil pan on myself but do you guys think she blew the motor or just tripped a low oil sensor or something that made the car shut down before damaging the motor? I think the latter since it didnt start knocking but im wondering if I have to reset said sensor and if so. How? Any help would be great. Thanks

She just might have cut out the fuel pump due to the low oil pressure can only hope.

Best way to find out is a compression test on all cylinders. Wet and dry and see how it goes.
