I was traveling and I cam e to a red light suddenly my car would not accelerate, it seems like no gearis engaged.
I stopped switched car off/on and put in gear it moved in drive but not very long after it started happening while driving. It did the same thing many times to get back home (10 miles)
If this was a manual I would say clutch slipping but is not. Now I can start engine it runs normaly put it in D I can see the revs going up and down litle bit (like gear engaging) it feels like I am applying the brakes or something but the car will not accelerate past 35 mph.
Any ideas?

Lack of acceleration, chugging, hesitating, bogging etc. Could be caused by one of the following below.

Inspect and test all the following listed below and get back with some results

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.
