My driver side power seat will not move backwards any longer. Is there anyway to manuelly override this? The controls are no longer working.

There is no over ride for this problem. It sounds like either a wire is disconnected, or the switch itself is bad.

Let me know if you have other quesitons.

This is common in the Kia Optima and Sorento. The problem is that the mfr did not make the slot wide enough in the black plastic covering for the switch movement. It is an easy fix. To fix it you need to remove the switch from the car. Completely disassemble the switch. Don't worry, everything only fits 1 way so it is hard to screw it up. Remove the gray piece that holds the ****s inside the switch. Once the black ****s are removed widen the slots the 2 lower black ****s fit in with a drill. Reassemble and put it back in the car.
