Left front speaker does not work

I have a crappy 2001 Kia Opti - I know it is due to something wrong with the wiring so how would I go about fixing it? Thanks

My right front speaker works so I already tried switching it out for the left-front to see if it was the speaker and not the wiring and it still didnt work.

My left-front speaker does have a tweeter and I can still hear sound from it but I think it might be blown but nevertheless I can hear sound from it, I cannot hear any sound at all from the actual speaker itself. I checked all the fuses and they are all fine. Its only the left-front speaker that doesnt work.

Just to add to this one do you have a factory amp if you do it will be at right front of the trunk?Or a aftermarket amp?

Read the guide below on testing wiring it will help

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

The wiring diagrams are attached below, both with and without amp

I am assuming that I have a factory amp? Because I did not put in an aftermarket one. Hmmm, didnt know that the factory amp is located there. Just to be clear, all I did with the sound system was 1) Put in a new head unit and 2) Put in new coaxial speakers. The problem with the left-front speaker occured both during factory and aftermarket stereo play. Thanks

You said at the right front of the trunk? I took off both wheel covers in the trunk and didnt find anything. Im not sure from which direction you mean "right-front". Does that mean when you are facing the trunk? But I did find some wires on the left-front of the trunk (same side as antenna) but I couldnt see what the harness was plugged into. It seems like the harder I try to do something with this car, the harder it fights back.

Alright no amp here is what you do unplug the radio and take a AA battery and jump the plus and minus of the battery to the black wire and the yellow of the left front door speaker wires quickly jumping it not constantly. You should hear a pop in the speaker if the wires and terminals are good to the speaker. Let me know what you find.

Alright that tested your speaker wires for shorts to ground and open. Now I would check to make sure your speakers to the radio are hooked to the right connections on the radio.

How would I go about that? As I said b4, I do have a new head unit in and it required a new wiring harness so I had to connect the wires from the head unit to the wiring harness. All the wires are connected to the right ones and when I unplugged the radio to check the speaker wires I could see that that indeed was the case.

Alright lets do this just to double check things unplug the that speaker then unplug the speaker wires from the radio. Then take your multimeter put it on low ohms scale like 200 ohm then go end to end to the speaker wires and see what the ohms reading is. Then go from one wire to ground with the ohms meter and see what it reads then from the other wire to ground and see what it reads So did the speaker work with the other radio that was in the car?

If its not the radio or speakers it the wiring then even though the speaker poped with the battery there has to be something wrong with the speaker wire.

Yeah its weird, I wasnt expecting the speaker to pop like it did. Its funny, the tweeter works on the left side but the speaker doesnt work, and on the right side its the exact opposite, the tweeter DOESNT work but the speaker does so its all messed up.
