In most cases, it is possible to program a key fob from one Honda Accord to another as long as they have similar compatibility. However, it's important to note that key fob programming can vary depending on the specific model year, trim level, and the presence of certain features.

To determine if the key fob from your friend's totaled Accord can be programmed to your 2018 Honda Accord, you have a few options:

Consult the Owner's Manual: Check the owner's manual of your 2018 Honda Accord for instructions on key fob programming. It may provide specific guidance on compatibility and programming procedures for additional key fobs.

Contact a Honda Dealership: Reach out to a Honda dealership or authorized service center and provide them with the vehicle identification number (VIN) of both your Accord and the donor vehicle. They can check their system and confirm if the key fob can be programmed to your specific vehicle. They will also be able to provide you with the necessary programming steps or schedule an appointment to have it done professionally.

Professional Automotive Locksmith: You can consult an automotive locksmith who specializes in key fob programming. They often have the tools and expertise to program key fobs for various vehicle models, including Honda Accords. They may be able to assess the compatibility and program the key fob to your vehicle.

Keep in mind that even if the key fob can be programmed to your Accord, you may need to have it reprogrammed or re-keyed to ensure it is fully functional and provides proper security for your vehicle.
