My car quit running and we jump started it. We took it to get inspected. They said that it failed because when we jumped it. The computers were reset and we needed to drive it fifty miles before it would pass an inspection. This makes sense to me but my sister is convinced they were making us come back to spend more money. Thoughts?

It means that the computer monitor needs to reset from being lost due to the battery problem. Get battery checked as well most places do for free. You can try the link, but getting it tested takes less than a minute at auto parts.

See picture on how to drive for monitor reset.
