This car runs fine while cold, car is driven over fifty miles to work each day and after coming to stop after driving on interstate it starts to run rough, and sometimes surges. I have changed the intact variable timing solenoid and changed the oil and it still does this.

Is the check engine light on? Have it scanned for current and pending codes. Also, why did you replace the solenoid?

I changed the part because the car had originally threw the code to replace the solenoid and I thought it might be failing again, but it did not help. Also I had to disconnect and replace the battery about one month ago, could that have something to do with it surging?

Disconnecting the battery would not cause that. Can you post the original codes you got and can you check it one more time for codes again?
