My car jerks during acceleration and it does that as it tries to change gears. When in 'Park' mode, the engine does not revv up to 5000rpm and the rpm meter keeps dangling 2000rpm and 3000rpm. This normally occurs when the engine is heated up.

Do you have a check engine light? If so, go to parts store have it checked.

There is no 'check engine light'. The car moves well when engine is cold but starts jerking as I run around.

Strange. Check around for any vacuum leaks or leaks in the intake hose.

Well, I was having the same problem before until my gearbox failed. After charging the gearbox, the problem stopped entirely for about 3 weeks. I washed my engine and the problem started again after one day I washed my engine.

Umm, what do you mean by wash your engine? Just wiping stuff down or you sprayed everywhere with a hose?

That's something you should NEVER do. At this point I would recommend you take it to a pro to have it properly diagnosed.

Well, the washerman covered some parts of the engine with water proof material before washing it.

Could the washed engine be the cause of the jerking?

There is no telling. That's why I'm saying it's best to have someone diagnose it.
